I photographed this little cutie when he was 3 months old and I though he couldn't be any cuter.....I was wrong :). I love it when the babies come back and I get to see how much they've grown.

I'm also loving this fall weather! I'm booked up for fall but I've got some really cute Christmas stuff. I'll be sharing more Christmas images in the new few weeks.

I love images with a serious expression because I love how the attention is drawn to the eyes. I do try to make sure that I have plenty of both types in each gallery but I have a feeling that I'm going to be loving my boys smiles in a few years! Both of my boys got braces yesterday and of course I had to document the day as soon as I got home!

I would like to think the wonderful staff at McDaniel Orthodontics! The boys did great and the staff there is wonderful.

I have been completely covered up with senior portraits lately and I'm really loving them! I am finally slowing down a little bit since school started but I wanted to share some recent favorites. I have photographed some of the most beautiful girls recently!

I am doing my fall mini sessions on October 13th and October 19th. I will only have 4 slots per evening so email me asap if you would like one. You will have your choice of *Sofa in the field* or *Rusty old truck* sessions. These sessions will be 30 minutes long and will have a gallery of 10-20 images. The cost is $150.00 and you will recieve...1 11x14, 1 8x10, 2 5x7's, 1 set of wallets and one digital file.

We had a wonderful vacation last week! I'm slowly getting caught up and back to normal this week and I'm looking forward to getting back to work :).

I've started booking for fall but I still have available spots so book early if you want a fall session. I can only do limited outdoor sessions in the fall and I get booked early. I'm already looking forward to all of those beautiful fall sessions!

I will be closed next week for vacation but I will answer any emails as soon as I get back. I hope everybody has a wonderful 4th! I'm booked up for July but I'm taking appointments for August for anybody who still wants a summer session.

I have alot of seniors ask me what they need to bring for their senior session so I thought this post would be a great time to let you know what I recommend. I'll try to add a few more tips as I think of them :).

A couple of tips....

1. Bring more than you think you will need! I have tons of stuff here and sometimes something that wouldn't stand out alone will really pop with something I have.

2. Bring something solid black and solid white (just in case).

3. Bring something bright and colorful (aqua and purple are my all time favorites). I have a purple sofa so I LOVE purple :).

4. Bring something fun like a prom dress. We won't do those boring prom poses. Those dresses are fun and beautiful and they make stunning potraits.

5. I'm hoping these are out of style by now, but don't bring those baby doll tops that look like maternity tops. They are cute on but they never photograph well.

6. Bring extra jeans, shoes, boots and jewelry. This is your senior session so make sure it's special. You will only have senior portraits once in your lifetime :).

7. Bring something that reflects who you are....hobbies...anything that makes you *YOU*. :).

8. Take a picture of your clothes before the session and email it to me. I can make suggestions and it also helps me plan a session that will be custom to you.

Also...it's not too early to book fall sessions! I normally have my fall sessions booked before October so book early to get a good spot. The first week in November is usually perfect!

I love this age! I am also still love my new brick backdrop. I have two more great drops coming in the next week :)! I also have a great new location to shoot at this spring/summer. This location is pretty close so I can still do some studio work in addition to the on location :).

The brick backdrop is my newest and I'm completely in love with it! This was my first little girl on the drop. I was a little worried that it would be very harsh for a girl but I think it looks great :)

I've actually gotten an early start this year on the family picture. I've been dying to try out my new sofa on a family session so I just used my own :). I worked so hard to find us the perfect outfit to match my new purple sofa but every shade of purple was different so I decided to go with all black and white images. It was a real challenge to take the picture and be in it. I was going to say we had fun but that might be stretching it a little :). The boys did each get $15.00 ipod gift cards for being such good sports.

I also got a few shots of the boys and my niece just for fun.

I love babies! They are my favorite things to photograph. I can't even pick a favorite age. Here are a couple of my favorites from this week.

I'm still booking Easter mini sessions and I will have sample pictures up in the next few days. I will not be using real bunnies this year. My boys and I went to look at some bunnies yesterday and they are a little wild for me:). I actually had nightmares last night about big bunnies in my walls:). I do have two great scenes that I will be using but I'm waiting on a few more things to come in before I post the pictures.

I'm booked for the rest of this year but I will continue to take newborn and baby sessions through this year.

I also wanted to thank the volunteers in Bryant and the staff at TC Thompson's Children's hospital. My oldest son Dallen had a seizure in the middle of the night Friday night. He is a completely healthy 12 year so this was completely unexpected. I've never even seen a seizure and I completely freaked out. These people were so calm and reassuring and I was a complete basket case. It takes some really special people to volunteer their time and get up in the middle of the night to go help others :). Dallen is back to normal and I'm hoping that I get back to normal soon LOL.

Here are some samples for the Christmas mini sessions that I plan on doing. Please email me if you are interested and I will share the details with you. If I can get enough people scheduled I will do some of these on a Saturday.

I've had some interest in these mini sessions so here are the details. The mini sessions are $150.00 plus 6% sales tax. There will be 2 packages to chose from. You will have 10-15 proofs to chose from and you can mix the poses. I plan on doing these on Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th. The sessions will last approximately 30 minutes. The busy fall season has arrived!

Fall is without a doubt my favorite season for portraits! I am pretty much booked until the first week in December. I may try to have some Christmas mini sessions the first week in December in the studio if anybody is interested. I actually did a couple of fall mini sessions last week. I need to know if anybody is interested because I will use the date for regular sessions if not.

I also need to know as soon as possible if someone can't make their session. I've been emailing people and I'm going to be calling the ones that haven't responded to my email regarding their appointment. This rain is causing me alot of scheduling headaches :). I'm trying to make sure that everyone scheduled for a fall session is covered.

It's been so crazy busy that I will be lucky to post once a week on the blog so I'm just going to post my favorites each week.

I seriously love these sessions! I wish everybody would request this location! It is so fun and you can get such a variety of images. Of course, I did have some great models!

I am booked solid until the 3rd week in November. I do have a waiting list so if you have an appointment for a fall session and you don't think you will be able to keep the appointment...let me know as soon as possible so I can fill the slot.

I will be taking a little longer with galleries and orders during this busy season. Orders will take at least 3-4 weeks from now until Christmas. The Christmas cutoff will be December 1st.

I have only had one person contact me regarding the mini sessions so I have decided to only offer them for one day. The mini sessions will be held on Friday, October 9th. I will do studio sessions here in the morning and I will have 5 spots available. I will offer two on location evening sessions. I'm still working on location but the pictures below were taken at some of the potential locations. The mini sessions will be $150.00 plus tax and they will include 24 holiday cards, 1 8x10, 4 5x7's and 8 wallets. The sessions will last 20-30 minutes and I will provide 10-15 proofs in an online gallery.

I am going to start mounting my 8x10's on artboard. I love the look of mounted prints! I have been mounting 11x14's and larger for awhile but I just love the look so much that I want to include 8x10's also. 8x10's will be $26.00 when I start mounting them.

I've been really busy with senior portraits lately so these babies were a real treat! I also had a wonderful maternity session recently. I love the senior portraits but it was nice to have babies in the studio again.

I also have a new look for Atchley Photography. I hope you like it!

I am going to be offering at least 2 mini sessions in October. These will be 30 minute sessions w/ an online gallery of 10-15 proofs. I will have more details in the following week but email me asap if you are interested. The packages will include holiday cards. I am planning on doing 1 day of outdoor locations shots. These will most likey be in Scottsboro and 1 day of studio Christmas. I will have examples of both days in the following week. I will only be taking a limited number so make sure you let me know if you want a spot. The dates are Friday, October 9th and Monday October 12th. I am working on my 2009 Christmas cards now and I will be adding new samples to the gallery as I get them ready. The sample cards can be viewed on my site under 2009 Christmas cards.

Our first football weekend

I have had an extremely busy week and I topped it off yesterday with 3 on location sessions in the same day. We had some of the most beautiful locations!

I have updated my calender and I am going to try and keep it up to date for the rest of the year. I plan on having my mini sessions while school is out and I will update that on the calender as soon as I figure those dates out.

These two are adorable! I've processed a few of these in a softer vintage look. I really love that look and I think it works perfectly for these images. I also want to focus more on my on location work. Let me know if you have any good locations to use. I have permission to use the old porch from the blog post below...Brinlee. I would love to do another session there and it can be used anytime.

I'm am already booked for the first week in November. This was the best time for fall pictures last year. If you want lots of color you need to call next week because I have a few spots left the week before and after.

I am going to be offering some mini sessions in September. Let me know if you are interested so that I can get an idea of how many that I will schedule. The first one will be a shabby chic mini session. This will work for a boy or girl.

I've been so busy this summer that I've completely neglected my blog. I hope everybody is having a great summer! I'm really starting to get busy so if you are planning on booking a session ...call soon. I'm currently booking for the week of August 24th. I am also booking for fall evening sessions.

I have been really busy with senior sessions since I got back from vacation. Senior sessions take longer so I am only booking one senior session a week. Here are a few from a senior session that I did last week. She is such a beautiful girl!!

I was so excited about finding this chair yesterday that I had to call up some beautiful little girls so I could get a few shots. They were so great....I called them up and ask if they could come and they were here within a few hours.

I have a couple of spots left for June but July is now completely booked. I am currently taking appointments for August.

I don't have a link but you can google it if you're not familiar with it. I REALLY wish I had a little girl when I see these clothes LOL.

Last year I when I got ready to do my Christmas card I realized that I had not taken any pictures of the boys all year. I decided that I would do better this year if it killed me ...or them LOL. Happy New Year everybody!! I have been working on updating my site and studio so keep checking for updates. I am going to offer 2 digital collections in 2009 and I will be posting them in the pricing section in the next few days. I also spent the week painting the studio. I just wanted to share a few from last nights session. This family drove over an hour for their session. It seems like all of my clients have to drive an hour to get to me and I really appreciate you guys!! I know that you must feel like you are driving to the edge of the earth but I hope that I make it worth the trip!

This family was a dream to work with. The boys were polite, well behaved and obviously in love with their little sister.
